Calm & Clear: A Monthly Protocol for Breakout-Prone Skin with a Reactive Perioral Zone

The client is a marathon runner, so her skin is exposed daily to heavy sweating, friction, and constant contact with the outside environment. At her first visit, she presented with active breakouts, sensitivity in the perioral area, signs of dehydration, and a tendency toward sebum buildup in the pores.

Excess sebum, mixed with surface debris and shed cells, collected in the follicular openings. This made the texture look less even and the pores more noticeable.

Load on the surface barrier
Constant exposure to sweat, friction, and external factors added extra load to the skin surface, which made redness look more pronounced and the skin more reactive.
Signs of surface dehydration
The stratum corneum showed signs of insufficient hydration, which made the skin look less smooth and supple. Changes like these are often seen with regular sweating and frequent cleansing of the skin.

How Each Step Built the Result
Throughout the course, no massage techniques were used, in order to avoid adding mechanical load to the sensitive perioral area.




What was done: roughly ten minutes of controlled cold therapy with the Zemits ColdRestore, paired with the conductive gel with Peptides, Zemits FirmingGenius PRO.
Why: to deliver controlled cooling after the active steps and help the skin look calmer and less reactive.
What happens in the skin: controlled surface-level cooling works at the stratum corneum, the conductive gel keeps contact with the applicator even, and the peptides and aloe in the formula support surface comfort. Redness reads as less pronounced, and pores look less noticeable.

What was done: a Cold Plasma step with the Zemits EvoPlasm (≈3 min) as a surface cleansing-and-finish phase.
Why: to support a cleaner, calmer-looking surface after the mechanical steps, including in the problem areas.
What happens in the skin: the surface looked cleaner and better kept, prepared for the cooling step.



Step 4. HydroDiamond Technology


What was done: the HydroDiamond Treatment modality on the Zemits DermeLuxx PRO with the Serum with Lactic Acid, Zemits HydroClear PRO. Areas of active irritation and the perioral zone were deliberately worked around.
Why: to gently renew the surface and even out texture where it made sense, without loading the sensitive zones.
What happens in the skin: the HydroDiamond tip gently removed residual surface buildup and evened out the skin's microrelief.
What was done: targeted manual clearing of congested pores.
Why: to reduce the congestion that was feeding the breakout cycle.
What happens in the skin: the cleared follicular openings look cleaner, and the surface looks more even.




What was done: an 8-minute enzyme application under steam.
Why: to gently soften surface buildup and prepare the follicular openings for gentle extractions.
What happens in the skin: the enzymes loosen the bonds between surface corneocytes, while the added moisture from the steam hydrates the stratum corneum — making the sebum in the follicular openings more pliable and easier to release in the next step.



What was done: a gentle cleanse with Bioelements Urban Undo, removing sweat, surface sebum, SPF residue, and debris.
Why: for this client, it's the surface film from sweat and the environment that puts the first load on the skin.
What happens in the skin: a cleansed stratum corneum surface is better prepared for the softening step and the steps that follow.




Step 8. Oxygen Finish + Blue LED
What was done: to close, 10 minutes of the contact-free Oxygen Dome modality on the Zemits OxiVelour PRO, paired with blue LED from the Zemits VivaLumix (415 nm).
Why: to close the treatment in a comfortable, localized oxygen-rich environment and support a calm, even result.
What happens in the skin: the dome delivers oxygen through three inlets for even distribution over the serum layer already on the skin, maintaining a localized oxygen-rich environment at the surface. At the same time, the blue light works on photobiomodulation logic, interacting with light-sensitive structures in the outer layers of the epidermis and supporting the appearance of blemish-prone skin and a calmer-looking tone.





Step 7. Oxygen Infusion
What was done: the Bioelements oxygen serum was applied to the skin surface with the OxyRevive modality on the Zemits OxiVelour PRO, which uses oxygen pressure to atomize the formula into a fine mist.
Why: to distribute the targeted serum evenly across the already-renewed surface, without direct contact on the reactive zones.
What happens in the skin: oxygen pressure breaks the serum into a fine mist, so the formula settles in an even layer and supports surface hydration over the prepared stratum corneum.


Step 6. Cold Therapy
The HydroClear PRO formula supported this step:
  • Lactic Acid — supports gentle surface renewal, helping loosen the uneven buildup of dry corneocytes for a smoother-looking surface.
  • Rosemary Extract — botanical antioxidant support; the skin looks fresher after HydroDiamond.
  • Royal Jelly — conditions the surface for a softer, more nourished-looking finish.
